Can you really change your ways, improve yourself for the better once the clock strikes midnight on New Year’s Day? Resolutions have always been rooted in true self-growth but rarely does this stick if you’re only doing it for clout.

The rise of the monthly challenge comes to fruition in the first month of the year – Veganuary is the latest craze on social media, joining Dry Jan and the fitness explosion on the shopping racks. If you’re struggling, holding on for dear life to make it until the 31st January, we’ve decided to give a little help along the way.

Go sustainably vintage

Camden is known as a thrifting megastore, from bashed up Dr.Martens to garish Hawaiian shirts. You can easily make a day out of it to save up your pennies all the while combating fast fashion. Throw it in the wash to make it feel almost brand new.

Breathe in, breathe out

January is a rough month, there’s no other way around it. Resolutions give a chance of renewal and self-improvement but the combination of things: be it weather, lack of money or the comedown from the Christmas holidays, can drastically affect your mental health.

Self-care and looking after oneself is especially important during these weeks, so give yourself a break.

Take a break // Spiritual healing

Powered by plants

Plant-based diets have been growing in popularity steadily for the last few years. Back in 2010, Veganuary was a distant dream but now alternative options are in abundance.

Taking the first step is the hardest part, though with supermarket becoming more inclusive veganism isn’t as difficult as it used to be. Vegans can even devour a juicy burger in fast food form minus all the protein (and presumably carbon emissions).

Hunger pains // Retail therapy

Strapped for cash

Most businesses dropped their payday earlier, just in time for gift-giving but the dark side of this is no paycheck for another 6 weeks. Scrimping your pennies and intense budgeting goes hand-in-hand with January.

Thankfully, you can save some money when you visit Camden Market with our Camden Card with up to 25% off and it’s completely free to get your hands on one.
