With a menu that includes jerk fish fingers and jerk chicken nuggets in ginger beer batter, Only Jerkin’ put a fresh twist on Caribbean cuisine. Founded by Jessica Olsen and Luke Dawes, the pair drew inspiration from meals with Luke’s family gatherings which were always centred around a big Caribbean feast.
Founded by Wei Wei, a Taiwanese student living in London, the eponymous wheel cake is a staple desert across Asia. Wheel cakes are made from batter in a specially designed pan that gives them their shape – they are filled traditionally with sweetened red bean paste but Wei Wei also puts custard, chocolate or matcha in his, and yes, they taste wheely good.
In love with the power of plants? Vegan faves Spice Box are bringing their seriously delicious curry and rice boxes to veg out on all day. All meals are vegan and gluten free, so it’s up to you to build your own box: choose between brown basmati or quinoa pilau, then top with with jackfruit tikka masala, sweet potato and summer greens peanut curr and tandoori cauliflower steak. Ve-gan’t wait to check them out!
