Get traditional with the ultimate in quintessentially British treats

Forget the Great British Bake Off; why make your own cakes when you can have other people make them for you? Our fave resident bakery – the Flour Station – has devised the ultimate afternoon tea and you are all invited! Taking bookings during the week and walk-ins on the weekend, here’s the lowdown on what they are offering:

Start off with all the ingredients for your own DIY, mini sandwich. A slab of Montgomery cheddar from Neal’s Yard Dairy, cured meats from Cannon and Cannon and mustard from England Preserves. Jam all those things into one of the Flour Station’s freshly baked rolls and voila, you’ve got yourself a delish savoury snack.

Move on to the most important part of any afternoon tea – two freshly baked fruit scones with a dollop of clotted cream and some jam. Pair with a cuppa and you’re good to go!

Last but never least, it’s the Flour Station’s perfect selection of petit fours. Deliberate between their freshly baked eccles cake, chocolate brownie bites, lemon drizzle cake, shortbread sandwich with jam and fresh fruit and the black forest gateau biscuit sandwich. It’s designed to share but trust us, you won’t be able to.
