From hip hop to soul to K-pop, we've picked out the best 5 live music gigs happening in Camden this April

The April edition is here and some incredible acts are performing all across Camden Town, thanks to the live music venues filling the streets. We’ve picked out our favourite gigs coming up later this month so make sure to book those tickets before they sell out!

Chrysta Bell // Dingwalls // 12th April

Who? Hailing from San Antonio, Texas, Chrysta Bell is a singer-songwriter and actress who traverses several styles of alternative rock and dream pop. Seen on season 3 of Twin Peaks, Chrysta Bell is a frequent collaborator with David Lynch both in acting and music; in 2016 they released the ‘Somewhere in the Nowhere’ EP together.

Love Supreme Jazz Festival // Roundhouse // 13th April

Who? Following the success of the inaugural Love Supreme at the Roundhouse, the one day festival returns with main stage performances from Mercury Prize-nominated and MOBO-winning singer Laura Mvula and pioneering South London fusion keyboardist Kamaal Williams. Joining them on the bill are British saxophonist Pete Wareham’s incendiary jazz-punk six-piece Melt Yourself Down and mesmerising young vocalist Judi Jackson. In addition to these incredible live performances, there will be talks, Q&As, film and documentary screenings.

Vant // Camden Assembly // 18th April

Who? Formerly a five-piece alternative rock band, Vant is a solo act with Mattie Vant leading the vocals and guitar. Fresh from a one-year hiatus, Vant is back to introduce his new musical direction – moving away from their garage punk rock beginnings and transitioning into a hip hop pop sound.

Josh Milan // Jazz Cafe // 21st April

Who? The Grammy Award-nominated multi-instrumentalist and producer has been a force in the music industry for over 30 years as a founding member of the iconic house music group Blaze, Honeycomb Music label owner and solo artist. Josh Milan has positioned himself as one of the most influential virtuosos in the contemporary dance music industry. While, Josh Milan’s most noted works are of the house and dance music category, his repertoire spans the spectrum of musical genres.

Sam Kim // Electric Ballroom // 28th April

Who? After dropping his new EP ‘Sun & Moon’, Sam Kim, one of the hottest artists on the Korean R&B scene embarks on his debut European Tour. Fusing R&B and K-pop together, Sam Kim in the last 2 years has been on a whirlwind journey, releasing numerous tracks and crowned ‘Best Rookie’ at various festivals.
