The Black Cow

Fiery Middle Eastern Steakhouse

Black Cow brings a fine dining concept to Camden Market Hawley Wharf food market that mixes up culinary conventions and cultural cues. Creating a unique menu bursting with flavour, warmth and personality. Turning the concept of traditional American steakhouse on its head, Black Cow serves only 100% free range, grass-fed, traceable and sustainable British beef, giving the finest cuts of meat a fresh Middle Eastern twist.

Chef duo Shiri Kraus and Amir Batito opened The Black Cow after honing their skills in some of London’s finest eateries – such as Barbary and Palomar. Based on the concept of the Hebrew phrase ’לפתוח שולחן’, or ‘opening a table’, guests are welcomed to watch the theatre of the open kitchen, with chefs in action on the Josper charcoal grill. Built on the belief that food is a powerful way to connect people and ‘every food has a story to tell’, dishes are designed to be dug into with gusto, bread torn and sauces shared amongst friends and family on the communal tables.

Excellent steak is at the heart of the Black Cow experience and each of the three different cuts are charcoal grilled medium-rare, served with burnt herb oil and flaming herbs with lip-smacking sides ranging from ‘Husky’ – Corn cob, salted crumble, feta – to the inspired ‘Wings of Change’ – harissa and cured lemon.

Make sure you try…

The chargrilled artichoke – an halved globe artichoke chargrilled and served with pecorino and remoulade.
