Get Dressed With Daisy

When Daisy Lowe arrives at Camden Market, it’s more of a homecoming than a visit. ‘This place is so special to me’ she tells us as we meet outside the Camden Lock bridge, ‘I grew up here, born and bred… a proper Camden girl!’

The Camden Market Edit is a range of collections curated and selected by industry experts and style icons. Daisy is here to curate our first fashion edit, exploring Camden Market, Hawley Wharf and Buck Street to pick out pieces that define her style.

As a model, she’s been featured in Vogue Italia, Harpers Bazaar and walked the runway for the likes of Chanel and Vivienne Westwood, so fashion is close to her heart. In fact, it was here in Camden that she was discovered by a talent scout as a 15 year old. ‘This is where I was discovered’ she says, ‘my career started here’.

First Stop | Vintage at Koo Style, Camden Market Hawley Wharf

Daisy’s first stop is Koo Style. This vintage store, tucked away in a restored railway arch, offers an array of pre-loved denim, up-cycled fashion and incredible accessories. She picks out two plaid shirts and classic cut off vintage Levi shorts. ‘I love the customisation’ says Daisy, looking through the array of colourful patches and accessories that you can add to your denim finds, ‘trawling through all of that vintage makes me so happy’.

Second Stop | Camden Watch Company, Camden Market

Daisy’s second stop is The Camden Watch Company. As its name suggests, this is a quintessentially Camden brand that takes its inspiration from the history and surroundings of the area. ‘The store is beautiful, it’s really industrial’ says Daisy, ‘the pieces are all timeless and they’re based around the spirit of Camden’. She chooses a No. 24 Watch with a steel mesh strap – it’s subtly stylish, with tiny details on the face inspired by Camden’s railway tracks.

Third Stop | Modfather, Camden Market

‘Modfather is a must-visit, it’s classic Camden’ says Daisy. This emporium of all things mod, skinhead and subculture is the perfect place to find old-school styles and new interpretations of the classic, and Daisy picks out their signature Made in England Dress in tartan.

Daisy’s Styling Tips

‘My first look is the Modfather dress with a vintage jacket from The Vintage Collection’ says Daisy, ‘I love a cute little mini!’ she says of the Modfather dress, and her styling hack? ‘Wear an oversized jacket to grunge it up and feel a bit more relaxed’. She pairs it with chunky-soled Sinclair Boots by Dr. Martens.

Daisy’s second look is high-waisted Levis from Koo Style and a vintage t-shirt from The Vintage Collection. ‘It’s super comfortable and I feel like I could wear it anywhere’ says Daisy.

‘I’m obsessed’ she adds, showing us a handmade, made-to-measure leather belt from Expert London. Her styling tip for this look is a simple knot at the waist of the t-shirt, showing off the high waist of the jeans and the leatherwork of the belt. She finishes this look with the bold white Jadon boots by Dr. Martens.

‘There are so many incredible retailers to choose from here’ says Daisy. And her advice to anyone planning a shopping to Camden’s markets? ‘Don’t have an expectation. Go and discover those hidden gems, see what takes your fancy, and pick up some real treasures.’
